Maintained for backwards compatibility only. The "assign" function (SSSOMTAssignFunction) should be preferred.
Represents the SSSOM/T standard preprocessor function "edit".

This function expects arguments of the form key=value, where key is the name of a SSSOM metadata slot and value is the value to assign to that slot.
